SHEBOYGAN, WI (WHBL) - A Milwaukee man began serving a nine month prison sentenced last week for using a counterfeit bill at a Sheboygan gas station earlier this year.

Judge Angela Sutkiewicz sentenced 34 year old Kue Lee after he revoked a one year probation and 60 days jail sentence, that was withheld and stayed, respectively, given to him back in May.

The original incident occurred at the Fountain Park Gas and Go back on January 15.  The criminal complaint against him states Sheboygan Police were called after an employee at the store accepted a 50 dollar bill for the purchase of a few items, with 47 dollars in change given back.  It was found that the bill was missing a holographic image, making it a counterfeit.

An investigation would connect Lee as a suspect, who claimed he was given the bill to make change.  He added he was suspicious of the bill when he got it, but went ahead with using it because it was not his money despite using it to purchase a few items.
