SHEBOYGAN COUNTY, WI (WHBL) - November was a down month when it came to the area’s job force.
The latest data from the Wisconsin Department of Workforce Development shows both the City of Sheboygan and Sheboygan County’s unemployment rates rose three-tenths of a percent to 3.6-percent and 3.3-percent, respectively.
The changes are due to the fluctuations in employment and unemployment numbers in November. The number of people employed in Sheboygan County is down around 400 compared to October, with a drop of around 170 in Sheboygan. As a result, the number of people unemployed is up around 220 in Sheboygan County and up around 80 in Sheboygan.
As for the labor force in total, that number in Sheboygan County is down around 200, and down around 90 in Sheboygan.
Our area was not alone when it came to a downward trend in job numbers throughout Wisconsin, as nearly all counties and major cities saw unemployment rates increase in November.
