SHEBOYGAN, WI (WHBL) - A Sheboygan woman was given a one year probation sentence, which is being withheld for now, after causing the death of a Chihuahua puppy last month.
Judge Rebecca Persick sentenced 21 year old Alexis Woiak last week after she pleaded no contest to a misdemeanor charge of intentionally mistreating an animal. Court records show Woiak apologized for her actions during the court hearing.
The criminal complaint against her states Sheboygan Police were called to investigate the death of a five month old Chihuahua dog.
The dog’s owner was told by her roommate, Woiak, that she threw the dog after becoming annoyed with it, and found it was not breathing or moving afterwards.
The owner added Woiak set a barrage of text messages apologizing, calling herself the worst person ever.
As part of her sentence, Woiak will have to spend time in counseling for anger management and will not be allowed to possess any animals.
