SHEBOYGAN, Wi (WHBL) - The Sheboygan City Council Monday night approved an agreement to allow a Madison firm to install beach and water amusement equipment at the Quarryview Park beach this summer and charge a fee. Some people have balked at the fee, which has yet to be determined, but Alderman Don Hammond said it’s no different than when the city operated the slide and charged a fee. Hammond said the city gets new equipment and lifeguards at the quarry at no cost to the city. Under the agreement, the company will pay the city one dollar to lease the beach from Memorial Day to Labor Day and will provide beach and deep water equipment at no charge to the city. The area opposite the beach will still be open for swimming at no charge.
