SHEBOYGAN COUNTY, WI (WHBL) - Even with a revision, Wisconsin’s latest gun deer season was a better one than 2014.

DNR officials had to reduce its statewide preliminary numbers Thursday after they discovered some duplications within their new electronic registration method,  Still, the nearly 202-thousand deer harvested over the nine day season was 1.12-percent more from last year’s hunt.

As for individual counties, Sheboygan County saw a deer harvest of 2,069.  That is an increase of 110 from 2014, or over five-percent.  The number of bucks totaled 782, while antlerless deer totaled 1,287.

The hunt, however, was not as successful in neighboring counties as only Calumet reported an increase in their harvest compared to last year.

Official numbers are expected in a few months.
