SHEBOYGAN COUNTY, WI (WHBL) - A Sheboygan County resident was the target of a scam call Wednesday that would scare most any parent.
The Sheboygan County Sheriff’s Department tells WHBL News that they got word around 10:30 a.m. of the call received by a man in the Oostburg area.
The man told deputies the caller claimed to be from Milwaukee and told him he had a gun to his daughter’s head, and was demanding money, 13-thousand dollars.
The good news is the department was aware of the scam since they got word of a similar situation phoned into the Kewaskum Police Department last week.
Also, the Sheboygan County victim got in contact with his daughter and found out she was fine.
The deputy says there have not been many scam calls reported to the department as of late, but like all, this one will be investigated.
WHBL News will update this story as more information becomes available.
