MADISON, Wis. (WHBL) - Wisconsin Attorney General J.B. Van Hollen says he is confident the law which effectively ended collective bargaining for most public employees will ultimately be upheld. Van Hollen says he won’t ask the state Supreme Court to put a lower court ruling on hold while he works arguments he will offer to an appeals court. The lower court threw out major portions of the law. Van Hollen says he is focusing on the merits of the case now pending before the state appeals court. There is some confusion over whether the latest ruling affects just school and government workers in Madison and Milwaukee, or whether it means all public workers in Wisconsin.
