SHEBOYGAN, WI (WHBL) - A Sheboygan Falls man took the stand in his own defense Wednesday morning during his trial in Sheboygan County Court on charges stemming from a shooting in Sheboygan Falls last November. 27 year old Charles Chew told the jury he was terrified when two men pushed their way into his apartment on Rangeline Road as he argued with his ex-girlfriend and began beating him. He said he grabbed one man around the waist and felt a gun, which he grabbed and began shooting. Chew said the men then ran from the apartment and he feared they had friends or another weapon so he followed them and fired several shots as they ran from the apartment complex, wounding both men in the legs. It was those shots that DA Joe DeCecco said were the basis of the charges since the men had disengaged and were running. It will now be up to the jury to decide and they are expected to get the case later today.
