SHEBOYGAN, Wis. (WHBL) - A plea agreement has been reached in the case of Ruby Klokow, who had been facing a jury trial on a charge of 2nd degree murder in the death of her infant daughter 55 years ago. District Attorney Joe DeCecco said the trial - set for next week - will not occur since a resolution has been reached. However, he can't discuss it further prior to a plea hearing, which is set for Monday morning. Klokow's 9-month old daughter died in 1957 and she told police at the time that the baby had rolled off the davenport. The case was re-opened about two years ago when Klokow's adult son, James, who was 2 at the time, contacted police about his suspicions. Two modern forensic pathologists then determined that such a fall could not have produced the injuries documented in the original autopsy report. Sheboygan police then questioned and arrested Klokow.
