TOWN OF MOSEL, WI (WHBL) - It was a lot more crowded out at Whistling Straits Thursday as round one of the PGA Championship got underway.

For the thousands of spectators out watching the competition, there is a place where you can get help both for the course and our listening area. Members of area chambers are helping to run information booths near the entrance gates.

Mary Lou Haen of Road America, an ambassador with the Sheboygan County Chamber, says their main role is to help people make their way around the grounds.  "They’re trying to find the back holes on the back nine, or otherwise they have concession questions or restroom questions; that type of thing.”

Sherl Breunig with Sheboygan Falls Chamber/Main Street helped out the first three days of the week doing similar work.  “It’s been really interesting helping people coming to the golf course; answering their questions, pointing them in the right direction, handing out the course maps everybody appreciates them.”

But when people ask, Breunig says there is another role for them.  "When the opportunity presents itself we certainly do try and sell the benefits of Sheboygan County and come back and visit us again.she will help share some of the other attractions the area has to offer."

Haen says people just want to know what is around.  "A lot of people are trying to get their bearings and figure out, you know, nice restaurant to go to, where are we in proximity to other cities."

So far this week, Haen says the reaction has been positive from spectators for the local area.
