SHEBOYGAN, WI (WHBL) - With the PGA Championship underway Monday, it's a great opportunity for businesses to bring attention to the local area. One Sheboygan based company is doing its part with a special box of local products.
Baux contains products made in the county, such as Kohler Chocolate, Old Wisconsin, and Jams, Jellies and More.
The company is the creation of Paula Kletzien, who came up with the idea 15 years ago how best to promote what is made locally. She launched her company last year, with the help of others, by following the principal of “givolution”, described as a revolution in hyper-local gift giving. "We’re trying to show people that when you buy a Baux, every penny stays in Sheboygan County. Everything in that box is from Sheboygan County."
As of now, Baux has 18 different companies they partner with, offering hundreds of different products.
Kletzien says she approached the PGA to offer the box to the over 100 corporate sponsors of the tournament, which they approved of. “They vetted our materials and they loved the humor”
Kletzien says they have a limited number of several varieties of the box for sale at several locations in the county. They include Relish Kitchen Store, Sheboygan, The Shipping Mill, Town of Sheboygan, and Vintage Elkhart Lake.
Boxes can also be ordered online at giftbaux.com.
