MADISON, WI (WHBL) - If you recently purchased frozen Ranger Cookies made by Johnston’s Bakery in Sheboygan, you will want to pay attention.
The Wisconsin Department of Agriculture, Trade, and Consumer Protection say a voluntary recall is taking place for the product due to a mislabeling issue. The product was processed using coconut, but the label listed it as macaroon.
Due to the unsuspected allergic reaction it could have for some people, a recall is being done on any of the cookies purchased on or before August 4.
Anyone who has a product can return them to where they it bought or just throw it away. However, if you have the item and do not have a coconut allergy, then you can still eat it.
The DATCP says no illnesses have been reported from the product as of Friday.
