SHEBOYGAN FALLS, WI (WHBL) - If you have been along the Sheboygan River in downtown Sheboygan Falls above the Dassow Roller Mill Dam this week, you may have noticed less water flowing by.

The state DNR says they have been doing a controlled drawdown of the dam since Monday so an inspection of the dam could be completed, along with general maintenance.  Water levels behind the dam were lowered by six inches per day until it was two feet below average.

WHBL News has not heard if the inspection and maintenance are complete, but the draw down was scheduled to last no later than the first few days of August.  The DNR says there will be a release base flow of 25 percent at all times.

Once dam work is complete, it will take a few days to return water levels to normal levels.
