FOND DU LAC, WI (WHBL/KFIZ) - It has been a trying past seven days for the family of former State Trooper Trevor Casper.
Both the Fond du Lac County District Attorney’s office and the Department of Justice released reports into the March shootout that killed Casper and bank robber Steven Snyder. The release also included dispatch audio and dash cam video from the incident.
Fond du Lac District Attorney Eric Toney says he has spoken to Casper’s family, who said they remain proud for what their son did. "It’s no surprise that he made the decisions that he did to put the community before himself, and I think that is a testament to how Trevor was raised by his family and friends, and the training of the State Patrol."
Casper died after being shot by Snyder during the 17 second shootout in Fond du Lac March 24th. Casper responded by firing shots, and one led to Snyder’s death.
