Sheboygan County, WI (WHBL) - 41 Year old Jerry A. Voelker of Sheboygan Falls is facing multiple felony counts of child abuse in Sheboygan County Court.
A criminal complaint alleges that Volker engaged in violent behavior against his girlfriend’s children, who are ages, 9, 10, 11, and 13.
The nine year old claims that on one occasion, Voelker recently kicked her in the shin with steel-toed boots, because she wasn’t doing a good job at helping him to work outside.
At least two other children accuse the suspect of punching them on more than one occasion.
The allegations of abuse came to light when the children talked to a Guidance Counselor at Sheboygan Falls Middle School on May 27, 2015. The counselor contacted police, who launched a joint investigation along with social workers at the Sheboygan County Health and Human Services Department.
Charges were brought against Voelker on Monday, July 20, 2015.
Voelker is facing five felony counts of physical child abuse – intentionally causing bodily harm. He could face six years in prison and fines of up to $10,000 for each count, if convicted.
