SHEBOYGAN FALLS, WI (WHBL) - Relay for Life of Sheboygan County will be taking place for the 20th year overnight.
This year the theme is “Lights, Camera, Cure”, and spokesperson Deb Patrick says everyone is welcome to watch and take part at Sheboygan Falls High School. "Even if you are not on a team there’s fundraising stuff going on. You can come and support people, especially the survivors. We celebrate survival."
The main activity is the walking by participants, which will start at 6 p.m. and go on all through the night. "We gather some information, and we get started out on the track by the survivors, so we have a sea of purple shirts out there," says Patrick.
Many other activities are taking place to honor those fighting, have fought, or have died due to cancer.
Funds raised will go to the American Cancer Society in their efforts to find a cure for cancer. As of Thursday, over 50-thousand dollars had been raised by this Relay for Life event.
