SHEBOYGAN COUNTY, WI (WHBL) - Two noted land issues in Sheboygan County will be the spotlight of two public meetings Tuesday evening. Both meetings will start at 6 p.m.
One is at North High School, and will inform the public about minor changes made to plans to replace the athletic fields at Field of Dreams North.
Sheboygan Area School District Superintendent Joe Sheehan tells WHBL News the biggest change will be to one sports field being put east of Taylor Drive due to wetlands. "It’s the middle soccer field, or the lower soccer field that goes east-west; that gonna be shortened."
The other meeting will be at UW-Sheboygan, where the state DNR will inform the public about the environmental impact statement process for a Kohler Company proposed golf course in the Town of Wilson. This meeting will continue through 9 p.m.
Team Supervisor Mike Thompson says attendees will be able to provide them topics to focus their statement on. "Wildlife and are there any rare species? What’s the water quality? What are the number of golf courses in the area?"
