
ALMOND, Wis. (WSAU) -- Portage County authorities are looking for a man wanted for felony armed robbery and parole violations. He's 34-year-old Bruce L. Vossekuil from Almond. Portage County deputy located a suspicious vehicle Friday in the Town of Belmont. Further investigation showed that it belonged to Vossekuil's girlfriend, 39-year-old Joanne Sullivan from Almond. The vehicle was located on a seasonal property, where no one was home. Sullivan was spotted by deputies walking in the area, and detained for questioning. She admitted that she was carrying supplies for Vossekuil. Vossekuil was suspected of being in an unoccupied storage building on that property, with access to several firearms. Sullivan said he wasn't there, but was at a wooded area in the vicinity of Lein Road and Heffron Avenue, in the Town of Belmont. Portage County deputies, assisted by deputies of the Waushara County Sheriff’s Office and a K-9 Team from the Adams County Sheriff’s Office all responded to the area. The Portage County Special Response Team and the Stevens Point Special Weapons Team also prepared to respond to that location. They did not find Vossekuil in the building The public is asked to keep an eye out for Vossekuil, as he is still believed to be in the area. He is described as a male, white, 34 years old, 6’ 0” tall, approximately 200 lbs., brown hair, brown eyes, with a mustache and goatee. He was last seen wearing blue jeans and a white t-shirt. If anyone sees Vossekuil, or a person matching this description, they are asked to call 9-1-1. Vossekuil is believed to be on foot in the southeastern corner of Portage County. Residents are also asked to ensure their out buildings, vehicles, and homes are securely locked, as Vossekuil may be looking for a place to hide. Sullivan was taken into custody by Portage County deputies on charges of obstructing an officer, harboring a fugitive, and bailjumping. She is expected to appear in Portage County Circuit Court on Monday.
