State Aid Estimates for Area Public Schools

SHEBOYGAN COUNTY, WI (WHBL) - The early estimates for state aid for area public school districts are split.  When including Kiel with the nine school districts centered in Sheboygan County, five will see more state aid and the other five will see a drop.

The Sheboygan Area School District will be getting the biggest percentage increase at 5.74- percent.  Two school districts, Elkhart Lake-Glenbeulah and Kohler, will see the biggest percentage drop at just over 15-percent.

Statewide, 55-percent of the state’s 428 public school districts will be getting less state aid.

Department of Public Instruction officials say districts will be getting nearly 200-thousand dollars less than what is in the state budget due to general aids diverted to charter and private schools.

ESTIMATED STATE AID FOR PUBLIC SCHOOL DISTRICTS:

-Cedar Grove-Belgium: $5,899,477, up 2.39-percent

-Elkhart Lake-Glenbeulah: $408,239, down 15.08-percent

-Howards Grove: $4,797,341, up 0.92-percent

-Kiel: $7,223,818, down 2.73-percent

-Kohler: $276,960, down 15.08-percent

-Oostburg: $5,139,576, down 3.96-percent

-Plymouth: $10,668,179, up 1.65-percent

-Random Lake: $4,309,430, up 3.69-percent

-Sheboygan Area: $72,307,317, up 5.74-percent

-Sheboygan Falls: $9,292,673, down 5.80-percent
