SHEBOYGAN COUNTY, WI (WHBL) - An area health care provider says getting too much sun is their top summer health concern.
Aurora Health Care released results Tuesday of their latest Quarterly Health of Wisconsin Report.
Public Relations Manager Matt Braun tells WHBL News the report focused on summer health, and there were two key points. "The top summer concern in Wisconsin and the nation is sunburn. One in three Wisconsinites are concerned about sunburn, compared to just one in four Americans overall." The report also found 55-percent of state residents will spend four to five hours outside in physical activities, slightly above the national average.
Braun says Aurora will use this information to help educate people on how to stay safe. "So from a sun protection standpoint, we really feel it’s important to encourage people to continue to use sunscreen not only in the summer months, but throughout the year."
