PLYMOUTH, WI (WHBL) - One should never lie to law enforcement, especially when you lie about who you are. Kelia Kilmer now knows that after she was charged Tuesday for obstructing an officer.

According to the criminal complaint, Plymouth Police Officer Matthew Starker interviewed a female twice who identified herself as Caragan Rassmusen.  She was in a video near where an undetermined fire occurred June 21.

The complaint goes on to say on Monday, the owner of the home that Rassmusen was interviewed at the second time told officers the woman was not who she was claiming to be.

Investigating this further with assistance from the Fleet Farm in Plymouth, where the woman had previously worked, the female was identified as Kelia Kilmer of Fond du Lac. It was also found that Kilmer had a warrant out for a felony offense.

Officers were able to find Kilmer later that day near the city’s Youth Center, where she allegedly said she was given the false name and birth date from her boyfriend so she wouldn’t get into trouble.

Online court records show Kilmer made her initial court appearance Tuesday, and was given a 500-dollar cash bond.  She faces up to nine month in prison or up to a ten-thousand dollar fine if found guilty.

WHBL News did reach out to the Plymouth Police Department for more information about the fire investigation, but our call was not returned at the time this story posted.
