SHEBOYGAN, WI (WHBL) - City of Sheboygan residents will have one last chance today to learn more about the 14th Street Bridge project before it begins.
Sheboygan city officials will hold an informational meeting on the 14th Street bridge project at the Kiwanis Fieldhouse at Kiwanis Park from 4 to 5:30 p.m.
The meeting will be used to discuss the project’s schedule, vehicle and pedestrian access around the area, and other concerns prior to the project starting July 6.
The bridge will close to traffic as the entire bridge deck is replaced, along with some of its girders.
An official detour will use Erie Avenue, Kohler Memorial Drive, South Taylor Drive, and Indiana Avenue. Pedestrian traffic on the bike/walk path underneath the bridge will be closed until the bridge work is complete. Marine traffic on the Sheboygan Rive will remain as is given the work being done.
The bridge is expected to re-open to traffic around early November.
