ELKHART LAKE, WI (WHBL) - Road America is known for hosting many great vehicle races, but today the horse power is traded for pedal power as the largest competitive road cycling series in the country comes to Sheboygan County.

The seventh annual Tour of America’s Dairyland is making its fifth visit to the legendary track for its latest stage in their June staple.

Marketing Director Lisa Downey tells WHBL News hundreds of races will be cycling around the legendary road course.  "So depending on that skill category of rider, they’ll either be racing as few as eight miles for juniors, or they’ll be racing as many as 65 miles for the pro men," says Downey.

Downey says the racing would not be possible without their title sponsor, the Wisconsin Milk Marketing Board, who donate chocolate milk, cheese, and other dairy products for cyclists to eat and drink to recover from their race.  "So you have races from 43 states and 20 countries that come and they experience cheese curds and string cheese for the first time, and they walk away from our state of Wisconsin remembering where they raced; this is not just another race in their season."

More information on the series can be found with the link below.
