SHEBOYGAN, WI (WHBL) - This Sunday our country will observe Flag Day, remembering when the United States approved the stars and stripes as the nation’s flag in 1777.
Did you know that when a flag is no longer fit for use, it must be disposed of properly? Advanced Disposal is offering a free service in the area to do just that.
We obviously are in the business of disposing of end of life material, but of course we have to take extra care with our American flags," says marketing manager Katrine Strickland. "So we just thought it would be a great service to offer to the communities that we live and work."
Strickland says this is the company’s second year offering the service.
A flag can be dropped off at any of the company’s locations through September 11th.
