SHEBOYGAN COUNTY, WI (WHBL) - A very wet forecast could cause some problems in our area. Over an inch of rain is forecast to fall between Thursday afternoon and Friday evening in Sheboygan County. Some locations could receive over two inches depending on how rainfall moves across the state.
That can cause low spots and roadways prone to flooding to do so. Sheboygan County Emergency Management Director Steven Steinhardt offers this tip if you see this happen. "Turn around, don’t drown is the saying because even an inch of water can sweep a car off the road."
The threat does not end once the rain leaves Friday. The National Weather Service is warning of higher river levels through the weekend due to high rainfall amounts expected across the state. That can cause low-lying flooding in prone areas and stronger river currents.
