SHEBOYGAN, WI (WHBL) - Prevea is rolling out a new service to give patients a chance to see a doctor anywhere. “My Video Visit”, a video medical service, launched Wednesday.
President and CEO Ashok Rai says patients can schedule an appointment with a doctor as long as they can video chat online. "Whether it’d be from their cell phone, their tablet that has a camera or a desktop that has a camera," says Rai.
People can use the service for health concerns that can be examined just by sight and sound such as burns, cuts, colds and headaches.
Rai says the service will work within a person’s “My Prevea” program. "The nice thing is that the doctor or the provider that’d be seeing you would have your complete medical record," says Rai.
For now, the service is only available to employees of select companies Prevea contracts with. Rai says the service should be available to all patients later this summer.
