SHEBOYGAN, WI (WHBL) - Five people are seeking three seats up for election for the Sheboygan Area School District’s Board of Education.
Two of those whose seats are up for election want to keep them. One of them is Ryan Burg. He was first elected to the school board in 2012 to help the district his kids attend.
Burg tells WHBL News he wants to stay on since the work is not done. "There’s just more work to do in helping this district move on, and as I said before be a leader in the state," says Burg.
Burg says the district has its challenges with budget, capital improvement projects, and the impact of private school vouchers.
As for goals, Burg says he would like to see more community involvement with the board, having Red Raider Manufacturing succeed, and ending the need for portable classrooms.
