SHEBOYGAN, WI (WHBL) - The Sheboygan Area School District Board of Education has formally come out against the education funding proposed in Governor Scott Walker’s next biennium budget.
"Passing a resolution like this is essentially empowering ourselves to be able to speak out in support of ourselves in public," says board member Mark Mancl. "So we’re giving ourselves direction and we’re giving ourselves validation."
The resolution points to the 150-dollar per student cut in state aid, no increase for inflation, and the overall savings for property taxpayers of five-dollars a year.
The district is projecting the budget will force them to lose over three-million dollars in funding.
