SHEBOYGAN, WI (WHBL) - There are three people running for Kevin Matichek’s former Sheboygan Council seat.
One of them - and the only name on the ballot other than Matichek - is Job Hou-Seye, a Sheboygan native who wants to represent the city’s fourth district on the Common Council.
Hou-Seye tells W-H-B-L News he's running to help balance the city’s image and taxpayers’ need. "Taxpayers feel like their needs are not being met, and I’m hoping that we can find a better balance, even if it means just doing a better job of educating the Sheboygan taxpayers about the issues so they don’t feel left out about the issues," says Hou-Seye.
If elected, Hou-Seye says he will focus on the garbage fee, providing businesses with tax incentives, and finding ways to cut costs in city government. "I think we need to do a better job with all departments in the city of doing more extensive cost analysis to see where money can be saved," says Hou-Seye.
Hou-Seye has a unique ballot challenge with two write-in candidates, Ted Bingham and Matt Wierzbach, running for the council seat April 7th.
