TOWN OF WILSON, WI (WHBL) - Plans for a proposed golf course in the Town of Wilson have changed.
Jim Richerson, Group Director of Golf for Kohler Company, says modifications were made after field work and concerns from local residents warranted less impact on current state land and public trails. "The original plan that we introduced several months ago asked for 33 acres of state land to be used as an easement, and we’ve modified that now down to less than four acres," says Richerson.
Other changes include a new entrance road, less impact on wetlands, and removal of invasive species.
Richerson says they will soon be ready to submit a detailed Environmental Impact Report. "Hopefully we’ll be able to submit that to the DNR in the next two to three weeks," says Richerson. "And then from that we’ll continue with the process of permitting and working with the Town of Wilson along the way in the hopes of getting this project approved and completed."
