SHEBOYGAN, WI (WHBL) - Work on the Highway 42/North Avenue intersection in Sheboygan is not scheduled for a few more years, but planning by the D-O-T is underway. Spokesperson Mark Kantola says a public meeting will be held at the Maywood Environmental Park’s Ecology Center from 4 to 6 Thursday.
"We’re going to widen the roadway to provide on-street bike lanes. We’re going to be replacing the sidewalks and installing a new street lighting system. We also have modifications to the North Avenue intersection and new traffic signals," says Kantola. The hope of the meeting is to get input from local residents about what could occur when work is being done and completed, such as runoff and traffic issues.
The project is set for construction in 2017.
