SHEBOYGAN, WI (WHBL) - Once the Thanksgiving meals were done, the shopping began in Sheboygan. Black Friday started Thursday evening at a number of retailers.
Store employees told WHBL News that there was the typical rush when doors opens and special deals were offered. Otherwise, they saw a steady stream of customers that kept them busy and few incidents.
As for shoppers themselves, some were willing to stay awake late Thursday to get some deals. Others chose to wait until it was officially "Black Friday" to get their shopping started. These people joined several stores like Menards and Mill's Fleet Farm in staying away on Thanksgiving. These stores saw the biggest crowds with their specials and deals.
Shoppers also had to deal with some slick roadways due to a light snow that fell at times Friday morning. Law enforcement did report some minor accidents due to drivers traveling too fast and unsafe for conditions.
