SHEBOYGAN COUNTY, WI (WHBL) - It’s now up to three Republicans who want Glenn Grothman’s state Senate seat. Two more have joined outgoing state Assemblyman Duey Stroebel in running for the 20th Senate District seat.
One is Ozaukee County Board Chairman Lee Schlenvogt, who says he wants to continue the work Grothman has done, and points to his eight years on the Ozaukee County Board as an example of how conservative he can be when it comes to fiscal responsibility and eliminating government waste.
The other is Ralph Prescott, who you may have heard about when he ran for Dan LeMahieu’s Assembly seat but lost in a primary. Prescott says his work as a Calumet County board member, the state GOP party and state business groups give him the experience needed for the position.
Governor Scott Walker will order a special election once Grothman resigns from his seat. The winner will finish out the term, which runs through 2016.
