SHEBOYGAN, WI (WHBL) - The 2015 county budget will go to the County Board when it convenes Tuesday evening. Sheboygan County residents will likely see a four cent increase in their property tax rate next year. County Administrator Adam Payne says the tax levy for the county’s 2015 budget will grow 1.22 percent, or $566,364. This will increase the tax rate from $5.60 to $5.64 per thousand assessed property value.
Payne says this is the fourth time in eight years that the tax levy has increased; done so to preserve core services and move forward with other projects such as the upgrade to the county’s emergency radio system, and establishing a fiber optic network with the City of Sheboygan and area school districts.
A public hearing for the budget will be held at the Courthouse next Tuesday, with final approval scheduled for November 4th.
