SHEBOYGAN, WI (WHBL) - It turns out a communication issue may have prevented Sheboygan Police from finding Lilleona Badtke earlier this week.  As you know, Badtke went missing on her way home from school Monday.  Captain Jim Veeser says the seven year old spent Monday night at a friend’s house a few blocks away from Longfellow Elementary without telling her parents.  Veeser says the department did follow proper procedures looking for the child, and event made contact with the friend’s family.  "There was some miscommunictaion regards to the residence.  There was a language barrier, age barrier involved.  So, yeah, prior to 10 o'clock that night we were already working on that and we would have, possibly had contact with her if we wouldn't have encountered that problem."  The search ended when Badtke returned to Longfellow Tuesday morning for classes.
