MILWAUKEE, WI (WHBL) - There are 459 people in Sheboygan County who were kicked off of BadgerCare and now are without health insurance. Those figures were obtained by Citizen Action of Wisconsin which call Governor Scott Walker’s decision to reject federal funding to strengthen BaderCare “a misguided decision." According to their figures, 1,059 people in Sheboygan County were kicked off of BadgerCare - the state’s program for low income residents. Four hundred fifty-nine of those people, or 43 percent, were left without insurance. Robert Kraig of Citizen Action said the decision is inflicting needless damage to families and communities across the state.
