SHEBOYGAN, WI (WHBL) - An Elkhart Lake man was seriously injured early this morning when he crashed his ATV north of the Sheboygan Marsh in the town of Russell. The Sheboygan County Sheriff’s Department said 68 year old Francis Halbach was headed south on Sexton Road when he lost control and swerved into the ditch. His ATV hit a culvert and went airborne and he was ejected, landing on a driveway. Sgt. Doug Tuttle said the crash apparently occurred about two a.m. but Halbach wasn’t discovered until about 6 o’clock by a woman leaving for work. He was taken by ambulance to Sheboygan Memorial Hospital where he is being treated for serious head injuries. Halbach was also cited for operating an ATV while intoxicated.
