PLYMOUTH, WI (WHBL) - Plymouth Education Foundation's capital campaign exceeded its $1 Million goal in its first capital campaign of its 25-year-old history. Anne Troka, Plymouth Education Foundation Executive Director, announced a total of $1,066,300 has been raised in ten months after the start of the campaign to build the Food Science and Agriculture Center.  Gifts were received from 154 different donors - a third from individuals, a third from businesses, and a third from organizations.

"You will not find more a generous and caring community than Plymouth," said Nancy Jusky, co-chairwoman of the foundation's capital campaign. "We are grateful to all of those who gave money or invested their time in helping us meet our goal.  Their generosity will be felt by Plymouth students for years to come."

The Food Science and Agriculture Center will be a research facility allowing students to design, install, maintain and test various growing systems, including hydroponics and aquaponics. It is expected to benefit nearly three-quarters of the PHS student body, supporting curriculum in seven academic areas and providing more opportunities for all students - whether they are bound for college, technical school or the workplace.

The success of the foundation's capital campaign, receiving over 100% in donations, allows the Plymouth School District to go out to bid on the project early in 2015 with the goal to break ground in Spring 2015 and open to students and the community in Fall of 2015.
