SHEBOYGAN, WI (WHBL) - Four people are trying to win the Republican spot on the ballot for the 59th Assembly seat being vacated by Dan LeMahieu.  One of them is Jesse Kremer of Kewaskum, a pilot and jack of all trades.

He has never held public office before, but he wants to put the state on a "pedistal" and make it an example for the entire nation by continuing the work Republicans have done since gaining control of Madison in 2011.  He has been getting word out about his campaign by knocking on every door of those who voted in the last Assembly election, plus hosting what he called unique events.

Kremer acknowledges that all candidates in this primary are conservatives, but believes he is different by having proposed certain plans to address some of the state’s top issues.  Some of those plans include one for education reform, and another is for welfare reform.  Overall, Kremer wants the state to "live within its means."

Kremer faces Bill Savage, Ralph Prescott, and Timothy Ramthun in the August 12th primary.  With no Democrat on the ballot, the primary winner will most likely win the November 4th general election.
