SHEBOYGAN, WI (WHBL) - The Sheboygan Area School District has a balanced preliminary budget in place for next school year. The Board of Education approved the $113 million budget during their meeting Tuesday evening, which is an increase of 1.4 percent from last year and does include a two percent raise for salaries.
Business Administrator Mark Boehlke said projections from earlier this year were correct, meaning they do have to cover a deficit of around $387, 000. They will be able to cover it and then some with annual employee turnover, which will allow for a few new teacher and staff positions.
The budget is preliminary since official revenue numbers from the state will not be finalized until October.
