MADISON, WI (WHBL) - A heads-up from the state about a robocall that’s been going around. The Department of Agriculture, Trade and Consumer Protection says hang up if you receive a call from an alarm company. The message tells people they can get a free security system for having a sign planted in their front yard. The message then provides options to press a key for an operator or press a key to be removed from the list. Officials urge people to just hang up since pressing any keys will let the caller know that your number is active and may lead to an increase in similar calls.
