MADISON, Wi (WHBL)  – In recognition of March as Social Worker Month, a case manager for Sheboygan County Health & Human Services was honored for outstanding work as a child welfare professional.  Wisconsin Department of Children and Families (DCF) Secretary Eloise Anderson presented Larry Samet with a Caring for Kids Award during a ceremony today in the Governor’s Conference Room of the State Capitol. Samet was one of five social workers honored for their outstanding dedication to serving the people in their community.   “These awards serve a special purpose to recognize the work that social workers do to help children and families have better lives,” said Sec. Anderson. “Social workers care for people in all stages of life and help meet the basic needs of all people, especially the most vulnerable.”   Award selection criteria included years of service and experience, adapting to new initiatives, advocacy, leadership and a proven record of ensuring the well-being of children and families.   Samet has been a social worker for over 30 years.
