SHEBOYGAN, WI (WHBL) - The Sheboygan Water Utility has ended a week long request to have all customers run water at night to keep laterals from freezing.

Superintendent Joe Trueblood said Tuesday with warmer weather forecasted, they are no longer advising everyone to run a pencil-sized cold water stream overnight.  Those still fearing a freeze up can still run water at night, but you will be charged for it.  Trueblood said the utility has contacted locations where they believe freezing could still take place.

Since their initial anti-freezing request last week, the utility has responded to about a dozen frozen water lateral calls.  The initial request was made after about 15 frozen lateral calls were received.

Similar water measures have been made in Sheboygan Falls, Random Lake, and a portion of Plymouth.
