MADISON, WI (WHBL) - Legislative colleagues of State Assemblyman Dan LeMahieu are sharing their thoughts following his announcement Friday that he will end 12 years of service in the 59th District at the end of this session.

State Senator Glenn Grothman of West Bend, who serves the same area as LeMahieu, said the Cascade Republican has a unique ability to understand what was right and wrong with government.

State Senator Joe Leibham of Sheboygan said LeMahieu cares deeply for Sheboygan County and it is an honor to work with him to advance interests for the mutual areas they serve.

Assembly Speaker Robin Vos said LeMahieu is a true conservative voice for the district, and credited his work starting the Rights the Rules project, a review of the state’s Administrative Rules, and being part of the Joint Finance Committee the past four years.
