MANITOWOC, WI (WHBL) - The body of a man found in Lake Michigan at Manitowoc’s car ferry dock was identified Monday as 24-year-old Jesse Neuser, of Manitowoc.  A police officer reported a strange-looking object floating in the harbor on Sunday morning  and the Coast Guard and Manitowoc city police confirmed it was a body.  Authorities said Neuser had been in the water for less than 36 hours, but it was not immediately known how he got there, or how he died.  The Manitowoc County coroner, Curtis Green, says alcohol might have been a factor.  Green said there were no obvious signs of trauma.  Green said Neuser had not been reported missing. The Fond du Lac County medical examiner’s office performed an autopsy, but the cause of death has not been finalized, pending further investigation and toxicology test results.
