SHEBOYGAN, WI (WHBL) - This evening area residents can learn more about the schooner ships that helped some people celebrate Christmas with a real tree.  The Sheboygan Theater Company is hosting Rochelle Pennington at the Leslie W. Johnson Theater starting at 7 p.m.  The event coincides with STC’s current production of “The Christmas Schooner”.

On ‘Sheboygan’s Morning News’ last week STC Managing Director Dennis Gleason said Pennington has written several books about the ships that traveled Lake Michigan for years bringing trees from Upper Michigan to Chicago.  Pennington is expected to bring actual artifacts from one of the schooner ships that sank near Two Rivers back in 1912, along with pictures of how the ship looks today.

Cost for this event is 10 dollars or free for those who bought a ticket for the musical.
