SHEBOYGAN COUNTY, WI (WHBL) - The opening of certain stores Thanksgiving evening may have influenced the number of people who went out early this Black Friday and where.
The busiest locations were places that did not open yesterday. Fleet Farm in Plymouth had a couple hundred people waiting in line before doors opened at 6 a.m. Menards was also busy; as Human Resource Coordinator Jameson Hoffmann said having other store open early may help them as shoppers who went out last evening got some rest and came to their store early instead of later in the day.
Retail outlets that opened last night saw little traffic as morning broke, but did say the crowds were plentiful last evening with only a few minor scuffles reported.
We met one shopper, Gerri Evans of Sheboygan, who did not go out yesterday and not a fan of stores opening on Thanksgiving. She saw it as stores forcing people to shop yesterday, thus leaving them with whatever is left over from last night and few special deals.
