SHEBOYGAN COUNTY, WI (WHBL) - The Sheboygan County Sheriff’s Department had a busy morning yesterday responding to a number of accidents due to the snow. Lt. Mark Rupnik said blowing snow freezing on roadways caused over a dozen noted incidents over a two-and-a-half hour period.
The worst incidents included:
- A two vehicle accident on Highway 28 west of County EE south of Sheboygan Falls that injured two around 7:43.
- A one vehicle rollover on I-43 south of Rowe Road in the Town of Mosel that injured one around 8:13.
- And a vehicle striking the rear of a tractor trailer as it was exiting the off ramp of I-43 northbound onto Highway 28 that injured one around 9:16.
Rupnik added this off ramp had at least five incidents throughout the morning, and most other incidents occurred on the interstate due to road conditions and speed. Three people died in the state due to the snowy roads yesterday.
