SHEBOYGAN FALLS, WI (WHBL) - Funding for remodeling the Sheboygan Falls Municipal Building will not be done through a referendum.  The city’s Common Council voted five to one last evening to approve the project’s funding by council resolution.

The roughly seven million dollar project would renovate the 56 year old building to allow more space for the police department, fire department, and city offices.  All council members approved of the project, but Councilman Terry Van Engen wanted a spring referendum for the funding so that city residents could have their say.  His motion failed to get a second, allowing a motion for a council resolution to be approved.

An official resolution will now be drawn up and will be put to a vote in October.
