SHEBOYGAN COUNTY, WI (WHBL) - The Sheboygan County Sheriff’s Department is actively investigating 20 recent incidents of automobile thefts and items stolen from vehicles.

Captain David Adams said over the past two months, four vehicles were stolen from the Cascade, Elkhart Lake, Howards Grove and Sheboygan Falls areas.  Three have been found abandoned in the City of Milwaukee, while a red 2003 Dodge Caravan remains missing.

The other 16 incidents from across the county had debit and credit cards stolen from vehicles and used in the City of Milwaukee.  Also stolen from one vehicle were two handguns.

Adams says in nearly all incidents vehicle entry was achieved due to them being unlocked, while the stolen vehicles also had keys still in them.  He recommends that county residents keep keys and other valuables out of their vehicles.

Anyone with information about these thefts can contact the sheriff’s department or the county’s Crime Stoppers line.
